WELLINGTON LICENSING COMMITTEE.
—*—- TRANSFERS GRANTED. ' The Wellington Licensing Committee held its quarterly meeting yesterday. There wero present :-Dr. Jf ArHmr, S.M. (Chairman), Messrs. J.' Smith, E. A. Wright, A, ,T. Rand, C M. Jones, and G. .1. Petherjclc. Inspector Ellison representell the police. Mr. Youhk supported, the transfer of the Empire Hotel ..from C. G. V. Kagar, to E. W Soflcld. He stated that a transfer had previMihly been applied for lo T. Mndge, whom Mr. Sofield had succeeded as manager of the conpany concerned. The former application was now withdrawn. The transfer to B. W. Sofield was approved. In connection witli the transfer of the Shepherds' Arms Hotel from P. W. Corby to 'r. Buckcridge, Air. Young appeared for tlio transferee. No objection was raised.to the transfer. Mr. Blair appeared in support of an application for the transfer of the Palace Hotel from G Edwards to A. W. Harrison. Tho transfer was approved. There was no other business.
