DISTRICT REPORTS.

(FltOK OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Tho Nireaha Dairy Company paid out on iNovembcr 20 for butter fat £4G5 16s. sd. The payment for butter fat on November 20 last year was £2SI 10s. 10d., both- at Btl. per lb. advance. Th<j last four or five weeks have made n wonderful difference in the look of the district and also in the yield'of' milk. Grass is plentiful everywhere, and cattle which received fair treatment "ill .the spring are looking well. One hundred, and forty cases of cheese left the. Nireaha Factory to-day for shipment per Gothic. Tho next shipment, in iourteen days, will probably bo one hundred and' eighty casos. The four vats in tho factory are just full, '2350 gallons coming m daily, and (ho arrival of the fifth vat, which is on order from Messrs. Harvey, Sous and Cannon, is being anxiously looked for. Tho ■ company is also, installing a' "Sinus" weighing-in machine, the present arrangement being too small altogether for the amount of milk which is coming to tho factory. Twenty-seven Jargo cheese ' are being pressed each day,, the weights running from 801b. to 851b. . " • Some of the l now settlers on the Forest Reserve (says a Nireaha correspondent), are making a move to improve" their holdings, and no doubt in the course of a year or two these six hundred acres will bo carrying a good many dairy cattle.
