'—— ♦- : ' HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. Mr. Howard Yornon and his talented com» pany have made quite a hit with the American extravaganza, "A , Trip to Chinatown." As Mr. William Strung, Mr. Howard Yernon introduced to the. performance a-first-class interpretation which recalls the Howard Yernon of past dam Miss Vinia de Loitte as Mrs: tinier, the charming widow, enters .thoroughly, into the spirit of the comody'. Her ■ performance is'an excellent one. The rest of the caste fully cany out the responsibilities laid upon; them of supporting the principal characters. The performance will'be'repeated this evening. '»•■''' , THEATRE .ROYAL. There was a large and enthusiastic audience ' at the Theatre Royal again last night. Barnard and Barnard"s marksmanship amazed everybody. The Cronies gave pleasingly. anum-' ber of items on mandolines, zylophones, hand bolls, etc.. The other performers were eqnally successful. The programme will he' repeated this evening. i ■ . ■ •■■.-...; "HOME, SWEET HOME." "Home, Sweet Home" was again presented to a'large audience at.the Opera. House last night. The Allan, Hamilton Dramatic Com-, pany' are to he complimented on the character-, and tone of the drama,which they have, selected.- ".Home, Sweet- Home" is a clean, wholesome play, appealing to the finer of the human emotions. The comedy is subtly con-' trasted with'pnthos/'and the whole performance goes with a swing which can only bo the result of careful preparation and competent acting. As Joan, the" fisher , girl, Miss Khadjah Cooper is a distinct success, and- that cLarming little actress, Baby Watson, in her impersonation of Dora was very good. Excellent work was also done by Messrs. H. Carr, Stuart Clyde, S. A. Fitzgerald,"Augustus Neville, and George Bryant. The drama-will be repeated this evening. „'■■■■ WONDERLAND. Owing to the boisterous weather the sensational shooting of the Wonderland chiite by a cyclist wrapped in flames could not be attempted last night, but, if the elements are favourable, the exciting ride will, he made this evening. The fireworks representation ■of the storming of Port Arthur will also be repented to-night. Very special attractione are advertised for Saturday. MISS ■ BLANEY'S CONCERT. ' : . On Monday next Miss Rose Blaney, will give a popular concert in the Town Hall, when she will be assisted by Miss Mina Caldow, Miea Madoline Knight, of Auckland, and Mrk:T. F. Costelloe (nee Miss Kitty Blaney), Mr. E. J. Hill, Mr. E. Piirkcs, and others. Tho box plan is now open at ■ the Dresden.
