« The Port Nicholson Amateur Athletic Club and the Civil Service Sports Club held a combined sports meeting on tho 'Basin Reserve yesterday ovening. The races resulted as follow :— 75 Yards Handicap. — Ist Heat — Hodge (7yds.), 1; Cunningham (51yds.), 2. Time, Bsec. 2nd Heat — Woodgor (51 yds.), 1; Golds (s!yds.), 2. Time, Bsec. 3rd Heat—Fama (6yds.), 1; Dawson (21yds.), 2; Time, Bsec. Final—Woodger, 1; Hodgo, 2. Time, 7 3-ssec. One mile run.—W. Gosling (25yds.), 1; F. Wilton (60yds.), 2; R. Gosling (45yds.), 3. Time, tain. 37sec. Won by a yard. Long Jump.—Green, 21ft. 3in. (incl. 3ft. handicap), 1; Brewer, 20ft. Din. (incl. 2ft. handica|<>, 2. Bicycle Race, one, mile (for members Thorndon Cycling Club).—lst Heat—Cramp (15yds.), 1; Le Coinpte (10yds.), 2; Edwards (25yds.), 3. Time, 2inin. 36sec. 2nd Heat—Evison (scr.), 1; Wollcrmann (15yds.), 2; Goldie (55yds.), 3! Time, 2min. 37 4-ssec. Final—Cramp, j; Evison, 2. Time, 2min. 33sec. - The events wero started by Mr. T. ft.
