In a case at the Now Plymouth S.M. Court against a man for attempted suicide, tho prosecuting Sergeant of Police applied for costjj, amounting to £9 25., and gaol expon6es. Tho S.M., Mr. H. S. Fitzlierbert. said he considered tho application a most unusual ono, and it was qui to a novelty to ask for gaol charges. The gaoler stated that the gaol costs were £6 15s. The Magistrate refused the application, and said ho was nit inclined to establish a precedent in the mat- . -tor, , -.
