A strange story lias reached the capital from Vladivostok. it is reported that drunken rioters, led by a man in an officer's uniform, raided the municipal abattoirs, whero many persons of both sexes aro employed. . Tho leader of tho raiders ordered all the employees to bo hanged, and the rabble sot about doing his bidding. However, very fortunately the gibbet broko while they werjj attempting to carry out tho first execution, and the order was then revoked. The so-called, officer was not content to let matters rest at this, and issued orders for the terrified employees to form into lino. Hβ attacked them with a sword, the other raiders using clubs. Many employees were shockingly injured before their shrieks brought a guard on the scene. The rioters wero then arrested.
