A LOYAL CHIEF MURDERED. DI TBLEdttArn—TRESS ASSOCIATION— COPTRIGHTCape Town, November 22. A loyal Zulu chief has been murdored at Nkandhla. A largo patrol has boon sont out. Tho Nkandhla district was the scone of tho exploits of tho chief liambaata, who was ovontuully killed. Iloro also, in Soptoraber, u number of Zulus attempted to murder a police sergeant, and escaped into tho bush. Nkandhla n-ns also the scelio of tho "sticking-up" of a mail-runuer by armed natives, but tho caplivo proved a Tartar, nml escaped, after wounding ono of tho captors. Following on those events. Militia officers in Natal wore warned to hold themselves in readiness to take tho fiold at a moment's notice.
