THE CHIEF DAIRY COMMISSIONER. TO VISIT BRITAIN SHORTLY. It has been decided by the Department of Agriculture that Mr. D. Ciiddio,. Dairy Commissioner, is to leave the Dominion 'shortly for Great Britain, where he is to inspect anil report upon the manner in which tho grading" of butter and cheese is .carried out at tho' receiving ports of the United Kingdom taking Colonial produce. It is understood'that Mr.. Cuddie will remain in Great Britain only
a .short-period,. and ho will then return to New Zealand; but ho will bo followed by the ontiro members of the grading division of the. Department in turn, so that they may compare and, in a measure, accustom themselves to; tho. system adopted in the older country. -It was stated some time ago that Mr. Cuddic to inspect the grading. systems' of Great Jlritairi, and he was setnajly. offered the position by the. Department.. He was not then Commissioner, howover, and expressed a disinclination to make the' inspection unless placed'in the proper responsible capacity for effecting a reform should it be desirable.
