AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
A meeting of the Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic- Association was held last evening, Mr. W. F. Larkin presiding. It was decided to hold the spring meeting on the Basin Reserve ~on December 21. Permission was granted to hold evening meetings as follow:—I'ort Nicholson Club, Novcm--27; Wellington Club, December 11; Catholic Young Moil's Club, December' 4. Mr. T. S. Leslie was appointed official starter for the season.
A tolegram was received from H. Kerr, champion walker, stating that he intended to compete in one mile and three mile walking events at the spring meeting. Messrs. W. F. Larkin, W. 11. Pollock, and.C. E. Bridge were appointed handicappors for the meeting, and officials for the gathering were appointed as follow:—Referee. Dr. Newman; stewards, Messrs. J. P. Firth. P. .T. Nathan, L. 0.-H. Tripp. J. Speed; track judges. Messrs. R. J. M'Vittv. 'A. J. Abbott, C. E. Bridge; • field judges, Messrs. J. 11. Doyle. T. S. Ronaldson. E. A. Dawson, J. 11. Jones, W. J. Heeuan, and M. llogan; walking judges, Messrs. F. W. Leslie and F. Ross-Ilogben, sen.; clerk of course. Mr. ll.' S. Robinson; marksmen, Messrs. .1. Ilccnan, 11. M'Ewen, T. Boon; call stewards, Messrs. F. Brace. J. Callaghan, C. Everard; press steward, Mr. A. Travcrs; call board, Messrs. Crowes. Talbot, Marshall, and .Da vies; number stewards, Messrs.'Parton'and Ryan.
