At a joint meeting of followers of Mr. Kidston and of the Labour party, all tho members signed a memorial protesting against a dissolution being granted by the Govornor at the present juncture. When the Assembly mot to-day, Mr. Philp, Premier of tho defeated Ministry, gave' formal notice for granting Supply prior to dissolution. Mr. Kidston moved an amendmont that beforo Supply be granted a memorial bo presented to the Governor protesting .against tho granting of a dissolution. Mr. Kidston's amendment was carried by 37 to 27. . The BjOuso adjourned to enable the petition to Be presented to the Governor. AVhon the House reassembled, the Speaker announced that the Governor had replied declining to withdraw the dissolution. Tho Governor thought it better that the country should express an opinion on the situation. Mr. Philp moved the adjournment of tho House. •,.< •-lrf»'•r" , The debate is proceeding. '''M'|T.
