they succeeded in making a drawn match. With four wiekots down for 115, the outlook was anything but promising, but Hutchings and Rhodos for the fifth wicket added 107 in just over an hour. Hutchings played exceedingly forcible cricket, and his score included a sixer and .sixteen fours. For the' ninth wickot Hardstaff and Barnes contributed a century, tlio latter contenting himself with keeping up his wicket while Hardstaff rattled up runs.
