The price of land in .this district still con« tinues to rise, and a section of soveral acres, in tho .vicinity of the railway station is said to havo changed hands at £100 per acre.. Lieutenant Dceprose, who has been in churgo of tho local Salvation Army corps, was given a farewell on Monday evening. An effort is to be made to wind up afTaira in connection with the now defunct swimming club. There seems to be .no hope of running the pastime, and tho management is anxious that the funds in hand should be handed over to tho Recreation Ground Fund. .
