BENEVOLENT TRUSTEES.
The weekly meeting of the Bonovolcnt Trnstees wns held yesterday afternoon, there being present:—Kcv. W. A. Evans (rhairmnn), Mrs. Darvnll, Messrs. H. W. Hogg, M.H.R., J. Smith, J. Wakeham, G. London, H. Cook, D. Robertson, the secretary (Air. A. H. Truebridge), tho District Visitor (Miss Kirk), nnd the treasurer (Mr. Petherick). - Accounts amounting to .£223 10s. Id. were passed for payment. It wns decider! that the amount of the fidelity bond, with respect to the office of treasurer, be fixed at ,£2OO. Tho Committee set up to report upon the question of the general administration of the ITonie asked for a further extension of time. This was granted. The Master of the Home reported that during the week three male inmates had been admitted, and six discharged; the number at present in tho institution being sixty-seven male and thirty female inmates, a total of ninety-seven. A short discussion took place over the respective merits of jarrah and totara timber for gate-posts at the Home. Mr. D. Robertson stoutly upheld the claims of the New Zealand timber, but the feeling of the meeting was in favour of its Australian rival. Applications for relief were then dealt with. The quarterly meeting of the Trustees will take place at the Ohiro Home on Tuesday, November 26, at 11.30 a.m. After lunch, the usual weekly meeting will be held at the office of the Trustees, in Harris Street.
