COAL DISPUTE.
V « THE BANK-TO-BANK CLAUSE.' [by telegraph.—press association.] . 1 Westport, November 18. At the Westport Coal Company's collieries some friction has been caused by the coming into lorce of the bank-to-bank clause. . Tho company alleges that the present agreement is in accord with the clause, but tho miners interpret it differently, and commenced work on Saturday under their interpretation, which, it is stated, means a dif- 1 ferenco of forty minutes in travelling time daily. The miners declined to consideranything in the nature of a compromise.. It is probablo that the Arbitration: Courfv will be asked to consider the difficulty.
