ACCIDENTS WITH BENZINE.
The necessity for observing extreme caution when handling benzine was oxcmplified by a paiijful accident which happened at Muritai on Thursday evening to Mrs. Grav, wife of Mr. J. 1). Gray, of tho Hansard staff, Mrs. Gray was in the act of cleaning a pair of gloves,,and at a moment when both her hands were encased in benzine-saturate!' gloves, the funics from the fluid took firo, with the result that her hands and arms wore wrapped, in flame, and wcro badly burned before relief came. Mrs, Gray wit probably be disabled for some weeks by th? injuries, The same lesson is enforced by a recent experience of a local volunteer officer, who had a benzined gjovo on his hand whon the fumes becntno ignited from his pipe, and _,his arm was sovercly burned.
