. RIGHT HON. E. M. ASHLEY. DT TELEGRAPH —rRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. London, Novomber 15. Tho Right Hon. Evelyn Melbourne Ashley is dead, aged 71. Deceased was the fourth son of tho seventh Earl of Shnftesbury. Ho was private secretary to Lord Palmerston from 1858 to 1865; Parliamentary Secretary to tho Board of Trade 188082, and Under-Secretary of State for the Colonics 1882-85. He has published a "Life of Lord Palniorston."
