WAIRARAPA EXHIBITS.
THE OUTLOOK FOR THE SHOW. Tho total entries for tho Wairarapa P. and A. Association's thirtieth annual show on Wednesday and Thursday next aro somewhat less than those of tho previous year. Owing to the absence of outside exhibitors, the bulk of tho entries (writes our Wairarapa correspondent) are purely from tho Wairarapa. Their quality is exceptional, and altogether oxhibits will indicate fairly the importance of tho district. In connection with tho primary industries, compared with the 1906 show, there aro increases in horses, shcop, pigs, and decreases in cattle, poultry, dogs, and farm industries. A new class of school farm plots competitions brought out about thirty entries, and is in every way a success. The fall of nearly fifty per cent, in poultry is accounted for by the fact that breeding pons aro unfit for the show. The falling off in cattle is slight. Tho only firm showing to any extent in farm implements is Messrs. Keeling and Wynn-Wilhams, of Masterton. There aro no implements from tho big New Zealand firms, and strong comment is made on their continued absenco from Wairarapa shows. Following aro the details of tho entries, with those also of 1906 in brackets for comparison :— Horses, 329 (301); cattle, 122 (149); sheep, 270 (21G); pigs, 44 (18); poultry and pigeons, 225 (370); dogs, 49 (60); farm industries, 115 (135); implements and vohicles, 57 (15); totals, 1211 (1402).
