It is alluded to in historical works as "Tho .Classic Vale of Para." •i.'ißoad from Miramar Avenue to Broadway—" Ira Street." The Ngati-ira (Ira tribe) are said to have occupied Miramar for eight or nine generations. 5. Road from Matai Road to foreshore, ■Wbrsor Bay—" Awa Road." The Ngati-awa werp tho last Nativo occupants of tho peninsula. G. Road from Broadway to Dundas Street, Hill Road—"Tiotio Road." Tiotio was tho name of a widolj'-famcd tohunga. Some historians maintain that lie lived about the time of Cromwell in Oruaiti pa. His sons-in-law were noted warriors. 7.
