The programme of subsidised band performances has lieen arranged by'.the .City, Council \.'.' authorities for tlie coming year, and the order V and location of each band's engagements lias been notified to the various bands interested. Those concerts are to be continued during-the ■■ winter months, but, instead"of .persisting in' .-•■- open-air perfunnanc.es when the weather , -is■''■' likely to he of an impossible character, the''-"' whole of the concerts during' May, June, and ' July, (and alternately' in .August) '.are to, be . given in the Town Hall, the temperature of * .' '. which will doubtless be artificially raised. . Indeed, in view of the demands that are. made on the Town Hall during the winter months,, ■•;. it would be more profitable for the City to ' have the May, June, and July performances cut. right out.
