Premier Kidston proposed, in the interests, of progressive) legislation, nil alliance between the Government and the Labour parties in an anti-Legislative Council campaign; that, therefore, both parties should accept tho Government programme and pledge themselves to stand by the Government in their struggle ivith tho Legislative Council, and that in the event of an impeal to the country becoming necessary to obtain tho desired end, a joint committee bo appointetd to manago tho election; neither party to contest any. seats now ill eld by any member of either party. Further, where the joint committeo put up a candidate both parties to support him.
