MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
SOCIALIST DF.FF.ATP.. BY TELEGRAPH—MESS ASSOCIATION—COrYKIGIIT. Lombn, November 6. Socialists were defeated in thirtyrono municipalities. -They' were badly ksten at Accrington, Blackburn, Croydon, Darling, East Ham, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Preston and Rochdale (whero they polled heavily). They won seats at Colne Valley, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Burnley, and Sheffield. Tho Unionists gained irom one to six soats in fifty-seven boroughs which returned Liberals or Socialists to Parliament.
