AMATEUR ATHLETICS.

The adjourned annual meeting of the Wellington Centre of the New Zealand- Amateur' Athletic Association was continued ..in. the Y.M.C.A. rooms last evening. -The was occupied by Mr. K. "W. MTilly. On tho motion of Mr. W. F; Larkin', it was decided that, the Centre bring .before! the' New- Zealand Council the advisability of altering the rules in connection with the high iump, the committeo'being "of opinion V that', the " take off" block is not required, and, further, is dangerous. It was resolved to ask the Council to bring tho matter under the notice of the Amateur Athletic Union of Australasia.

The Wunganui Amateur Athletic Club was granted permission to hold a sports meeting on November 21. The following were nominated lis -members of'■ tho' -New Zealand Council Messrs. T. R. Aloxander, W. G. Atack, H/Si Batchelor, J: F. : Grierson, A. : Kinnig, and' E. Nordon. Messrs. C. J. Cooper, J. R. Olliver,- and J. E. Green havo already been elected members of the- Council.
