She is duo at Wellington about Decomber 22, and comes via Capetown and Hobart. The Kaipara sailed from London for "Wellington, via Auck-
land, 011 November 2, and is duo to arrive here about December 31. The Opawa, at present discharging at Auckland, will not reach AVellington until November 14. THE STAB OF IRELAND. The Tj-Her liner Star of Ireland, which arrived at Auckland last Saturday, is under the command of Captain G. Griffiths, who has with him the following deck officers:—Chief, Mr. A. West; second, Jlr. W. Blackbird; third, Mr. F. Cable; fourth, Jlr. J. Marshall. Mr. R. Hunter is in charge of the engine department, and has with liini Messrs D. Carnegie, J. Cameron, E. Bamford, and W. Carrington, Messrs. Crawford and Bissct being the refrigerating engineers. The steamer has made a very good voyage, and has 5000 tons of general merchandise on board for New Zealand ports, 1500 tons of which aro for Auckland. Leaving Liverpool on September 10, a call was made at Las Palinas lor coal, fine weather prevailing. The Cape of Good Hope was passed on October 3, when strong gales and heavy seas set in, lasting almost continuously for several days. Tho Crozets were sighted on October 10, the steamer standing close in. An easterly gale, with heavy head seas, then set in, lasting for three days, during which the steamer's progress was much retarded. On 1 the gale abating, fine weather set in, and continued until Tasmania was passed on October 28. The steamer met with fair weather for threo days, when a dense fog, with thick dirty weather, set in, continuing until ncaring tho Now Zealand coast, when it cleared up. The Three Kings were sighted on I 1 riday morning, and shortly afterwards a dense fog set in, and continued until neoring port, when it cleared. ARRIVAL OF THE MAMARI. - The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Mamari, which left London on September 19, arrived in tho Stream at 11 yesterday morning. Two hours later, after being clcarcd by the Health and Customs officers, she berthed at the Queen's Wharf. The .Mamari has about 200 passengers for the Dominion, of various trades, including 27 farmers. The vessel sailed from Plymouth on September 21, and experienced lino iveathcr, with smooth seas, until she reached the line. Tho Mamari crossed the equator on October 5, and encountered a change in weather for the worse, strong south-easterly trade winds being experienced until arrival at Capetown on October 10. After leaving Capetown the Mamara's trip was decidely unpleasant for all concerned, for in 1 crossing tho Southern Ocean a succession of west ..to north-west gales,' accompanied by high seas, was experienced, until arrival at Hobart on September 30. Somo 700 odd tons of cargo were discharged at that port, and tho vessel resumed her voyage to the Dominion last Friday morning. The Mamari experienced'a good passago across the Tasinan Sea from Hobart, and did tho trip in one hour miner four days. The cargo for discharge at Wellington amounts to 4100 tons. The passengers during the voyage indulged in the usual amusements, but no entertainments were hold.

Tho Government steamer Lady Roberts has been detained in Auckland, but will leave for Dunedin to-daj*. Owing to the late arrival of the s.s. Tarawera from northern ports yesterday, her departure from Lyttetton. and Dunedin has been postponed until •! this afternoon.
■ 10 Wimmera, of tho Huddart-Parker fleet, is due. from Melbourne, Ilobart, and the South, on Friday morning, and will sail for Sydney direct at 4 p.m. the same day. Mr. C. Butler, chief steward of the s.s. Takapuna, is at present relieving Mr. R. Hartley, stores manager, at Auckland. During Mr. Butler s absence from tho Takapuna, Mr. E. Bloomer will act as chief steward. Tho Huddart-Parker steamer Zealandia is expected to leavo Auckland to-dav, and is due hero from Napier on Saturday, one day late. At the same time the vessel will make her usual tour of the depots for castaways to examine stores, etc. Instead of returning as usual, she will call back for the party of scientists.,
