THE SAN FRANCISCO LINE. Mr J. C. Spedding, Auckland agent for the Weir lino of steamers trading between San Francisco, Auckland, and Sydney, is in receipt of cable advices stating that tho Aeon left San Francisco for Auckland on October 27. The steamer, which has COO lons of cargo, is expected to arrive at Auckland about November 27.

UNION COMPANY'S NEW STEAMERS. Tho Maori and Marama, two how steamers of the Union Steam Ship Company, are now time-tabled, to enter, their respective runnings. The Marama, after a. fast passage from London, via Capetown, Durban, and Melbourne, ill rived at Port Chalmers yesterday. She is to leave Dunedin on November 20, for Lytteltoii, Wellington, and Sydney, and is duo here on November 22. It is understood, that the , Mono'vai will leave- the intercolonial service, on arrival at Dunedin on November 19, and will enter into the Dunedin and Auckland coastal trade. Tho Monawai is expected to leave Dunedin on November 29. The Tahine, meanwhile, will be thrown out of commission. T'lt! new turbine steamer Maori, which is now in Australian waters, on • her way out from tho.shipbuilding yards, is due at Port Chalmers on Thursday. This vessel has been built fovtlie Lyltelton-Wellington ferry* service, and tho Jlararon, o'ii arrival at v Lyttelton on November 19, is to withdraw in favour of the new steamer.

The. Kotuku was expected to leave. Greymoutli A .fine scow for the Ford Shipping Lino was launched from the building yards of Mr. G. T. Niccol, Customs Struct, West last Friday. The vessel has been named the Moa, and is intended for the coastal trade. She has been very strongly constructed of the best heart o[ kauri throughout., and will register about flO tons. She. is a somewhat similar vessel to the Curlew, built by Mr. Niccol' recently, and which is now engaged in tho coastal trade.
