She is bound for the Straits, where sho will cruise for len days or so, for the purpose of (.Mving the juvenile mariners an opportunity •if enjoying the ups and downs of the briny. The good ship did not steal away secretly, silently, and surreptitiously—as Hie late. Jlr. Seddon used to suy. She had been calmly and .methodically making preparations for tlio* voyage for several weeks past, and sho was a wellfound vessel when she gnily sailed awny. • Slie had a full rating of officers and crew, and the boys were full of energy and enthusiasm. The ninu in charge is Captain Hooper, 1i.N.1i., with Mr. AVilcox as chief officer, and Mr. iri'herson, of the Defence Department, in charge of the engineers. In addition, there nre four seamen instructors ,\vl\o will supervise the operations of the boys in regard to deck and sail work.
