In connection with the Dnice claim to the ■lukodom of Porfcbiml and estates, Miss Robinson, a witness from Now Zealand, has informed the police that while she was gazing at a shop window si thief snatched a bandbag containing her dairy. Fortunately she had made extracts from the diary, and lias copies of them. The claimant, George Hollamhy Dnice, interviewed, says that every page of Miss Robivisoivs dairy was copied, and was amply authenticated..
Statements made at a meeting of the company which it; prosecuting G. H. Druce's claim were to the effect that this New Zealand witness had been priviitp secretary to the late fifth Duke of Portland, and that they had his statement that he was T. C. Druco, givoii to her nnd written down in hc-r diary at the time. It was also stated that Hie lady hnd come from New Zealand, in order to give, evidence, without any inducement being offered her, and that she was "only being paid a sufficient swin to keep her in England, and the lady fomp.'iniuu who came from New Zealand willi' her."
