The Minister lor Lands was known to be of opinion that tho deposit of'tailings should be stopped, but the Hon.: J. M'Gowan, Minister for Mines, was opposed to that. It Was ;rcsolvcd to forward a 'strong protest to tho Government, requesting'." that tho matter should bo treated as', urgent, and dealt with this session.
