A monument has recently been erected in tho Mastorton Cemotery to tho memory of the lato Captain John Pringlc, who served during tho South-African war, and saw activo servico with 'tho Fourth and Soventh New Zealand Contingents. Tho monument, which is of granite, says a local paper, bears tho following words, beneath two crossed swords, worked in gold: "Erected by his old squadron, in memory of the late, Captain J. Pringlo, who died August 18th, .1906; aged 45 years."
