Add to this half a head ' of sliced celery. Let these cook slowly for about ton minutos, then'add two pints of hot stock. Flavour it with salt and pepper and a little nutmeg. This soup may then be strained ind reheated with one or two cups of milk. Servo with it sippets of fried bread cut into the shape of dice.'
