According to Mr. Boll's own statement, a strike would involve about 97,000 men. Tho actual funds at the disposal of the Society at present amount to about ,£400,000. If wo take the averago week's striko pay at 10a. per l man, the total would be .£48,500, so that the funds accumulated would last for about eight weeks. ; But in the event of h striko the .Amalgamated Society of Jiailway Servants have received assurances from several of tho more wealthy trade unions that monetary aid will be promptly forthcoming.
