Amateiir Swim-: ming '.'Association was ! held last night; Mr. .'L.'■«.''■ Liidwig presiding.- ■.- ■!':■ ... .':..-. i; In .the annual report it was stated that' 'during the season 34 boys"qualified for pro- 1 - ficiency., t certificates presented by tho ."N.Z'.A.S.A." The. certificates were intended •to'fbster'.onduranco rather than speed, and from the interest.shown by the boys, it was ■ confidently; exported that in future seasons the. number, would bo greatly increased. Thanks wero due to Messrs.. Somervillo, A. "W.- Smith: and T. j Shields for tho timo and instruction-given to the boys.! The council of tho N.Z.A.S.A. haying .takon over tho administration of tho Humane Uranch, tho Centre's-sharp :of the .available funds placed it in a strong position to'carry but that most . necessary work. -The showed a credit balance of £7 16s.
