EREE LABOUR. CONGRESS IN LONDON. PROPOSAL TO RE-UNITE THE UNIONISTS. BT TELEGRAM—PEESS ASSOCIATION— COPTniGIIT. London, October 23. The annual report submitted to the Congress of National Free. Labour Associations in London claims a membership of 080,000. It declares that the associations will bo able to checkmate the high-tide of trade union Socialism, which was recruited by boycotting, terrorism, and blackmail. The "Spectator" suggests that with a view to unitedly fighting Socialism, Freetraders and TarifTit-cs should agree to submit their differences to a Roval Commission.
The Leicester Liberal Association has resolved to combat the Socialist party. CONCERNING ORGANISED LABOUR. (Rec. Oct. 29, 10.42 p.m.) London, October 29 The Froe' LaDour Congress has resolved to favour the repeal of tli"* Trade Disputes Act. Tho Congress protested against organised 1 labour agitation, claiming to represent all wage-earners.
The "Spectator" has consistently striven to reunite the Unionist party by eliminating the "apple of discord" (the tariff question) introduced by Mr. Chamberlain. Some time, ai;6-J:h'o Duke of Devonshire, representing: the free trade wiiiff of the Unionist's, appealed to the party to close up its ranks in order.to fight. Homo .Rule. Now, apparently, .for Homo Rule is 'substituted Socialism.
