PETONE NO LICENSE LEAGUE.
The Victoria : Street Hall, /Tetono, wai crowded . on Monday evening/ the occasion being the quarterly'social of the No License League. Mr. B. C. Warnes occupied the chair. Mr. Byron Brown, of Otaki; who was to have given'the address, sent a telegram .stating, thai ho was unable to be present, owing to a death in his, family. .A resolution, of' sympathy with Mr. Brown in his bereavement was passed. After the usual business had been disposed of, an excellent concert programme Was given.by the following-.—Pianoforte solo, Miss Battersby; songs;' Miss Lill, Dr."'Mason, Messrs. l f . Mason and R. Wntkins; recitation,"" MrJ 1 J. Mason; stump speech, Mr. Gray; recitation, Rev. B. Mctsnn; instrumental quartette, Messrs. Pellan, Swaysland, Trailc, and Greening; saxophone solo, Mr. Traile. The accompaniments were played by Misses Battersby and Kibblcwhite. The Rev. B.Metson kindly filled the breach caused by the unavoidable absence of Mr. Byron Brown. Refreshments were handed round by the Ladies' Committee, who were largely responsible, for the succcsf of the evening.
