The Hon. G/ IV Richardson said he had received from Sir Joseph. Wnnl a copy of that portion of the minutes' of the Colonial. Conference in which the discussion' on the ques,tion of reciprocity throughout the Empire as' ;to survevors was reported. - Tlio Secretary having read - the, extract, Che Chairman niado a few appreciative remarks, and then-called upon Mr. Richardson to move .a resolution with reference to the matter. In so doing;/Mr. Rich-, 'ardsou ' referred to the excellent showing Sir Joseph Ward had made, despite his "not, hay-' ing practical knowledge of surveying. On his motion, it ' was resolved as ' follows"That this meeting warmly thanks the Primo Minister for the success which attended his efforts, as a result, of .which the' following resolution, was passed by' the Conference: 'That it is 'desirable that reciprocity fihoiild bo ostab* lished between the '.rcsjiectivo Governments and examining authorities throughout the Empire, with regard to the examinations and authorisation of land surveyors,' tn'd that the memorandum of the Surveyors' Institution on this subject'be commended to the favourable .con-, sidoratiori of'the several Governments. : li' was also decided to ' thank Sir Joseph 'Ward for the copy of the minutes dealing with i the matter, and that the extract be reprinted in the journal of the Institute. i •'
