WE CAN'T BEAT THIS.
Some time ago the South Australian Government appointed < Mr. M'Eachran; M.B.C.V.S. 1 , an inspector of dairy cattle, dairies,-and cowsheds in the metropolis. In the'course of a' newspaper report on the result of his inspection, ho detailed 'the following examples of 1 country dairies"A: Cowshed dilapidated; thatch roof; unpaved floor; ; drainage bad; filthy yard; pig alongside ; cans outside exposed to dust ~ of' manure-laden yard; 'dairy; a cellar where meat, etc,. - ; was... stored; ' B.Y 1 Galvanized buckets in use; cowshcd, unpaved floor; drainage, nil; thatch roof; yard and cowshed full of manure, 'almost knee-deep in places; fowls roosting in cowshed; dairy, nil; utensils outside: C.:. Cowshed attached to stable; filthy; fowls roosting in cowshed; drainage; 'nil; yard disgraceful; pools of stagnant water, with green scum and decomposing vegetable matter; cans : outside exposed to all contaminations. Many other examples could bo cited."
