LAND SALES IN HAWKE'S BAY.
■SOME-BIG DEALS. Two rather-,.large,- land deals have been effected in Hastings (writes our Wairarapa correspondent). In the one caso, the sale is that of the .well-known Tuki-',Tutu estato of 12,000 acres, eight miles from Hastings, to a Feilding and[■ Canterbury syndicate, which intends to cut the place up for smaller settlements. Tho.price paid is understood to have been £25 per. acre. ...... The other sale was one of 18,000 acres of sheop country noar To Auto, at a prico which has not yet been made public. There :has lately been a laud boom in town properties in Hastings, and it appears to bo spreading to-.the farm ■ districts. It is understood that in/ its recent purchases of the' AVaimarama block, near Hastings, the .Government paid up to £9 per aero.
