TROUBLE BREWING. There, is, troublo brewing between Nelson and! Marlborough. ~- -~'•:■-.- ■■■ ■.;'•■ .It' will, be remembered- that.at. the last Colonial Conference of tho, A. and-. P., Societies held; at . Wellington,, it .was resolved >to establish a .council, consisting .of delegates from the various provinces, to deal with- matters.of, great general, interest, : such as the; holding- of a Royal, Show. One nervpiis gentleman at tho .Conference expressed a_ fear that thoro would be trouble in those'districts which, though possessing several A. and. P. Societies, were only.allotted one delegate, but the rest of tho Conference failed to tako, alarm. The districts entitled to-one member each are ,the following :—Canterbury, Otago, Southland, Wairarapa, 1 . Hawke's..'. Bay-cum-Gisborne, Marl-borqugh-cuiri-Nelson, Manawatu, and Taranaki. - Auckland, being already over-repre-sented on..the executive committee, was not given further representation. It will be apparent,' therefore, that there are tho makings of some ,- interesting ;situations' in the. districts,which contain the societies of Gisborne and, Napier, Marlborough and.Nelson, AVanganui and New Plymouth, Masterton and Carterton, and others! •■'..:'.'■ . The trouble has already begun down south between, Marlborough and Nelson: and. Nelson has;'raised the ..great question, qf,Precedence.' A Nelson paper thus reports the preliminary encounter:— "Tho Marlborough A. and P. Association,, wrole"—(to-the Nelson A. and ~. P.-Association)—"that ■ for the member for Nelson and Marlborough they .had .. .selected Mr. A. M'Callnm, and. Nelson '~ could select .one next .year. ■;,.'■;,,'■ "Mr. Q. E. Chisnall, who was ihe-Nel-son delegate, at the conference,. considered tho matter should have como first ~ from'.the secretary of. the Conference, and riot from the Marlborough associa- ', tidni V, "Mr. W. ' Chisnall.',.He considered, as Nelson was , tho senior • prqvinco, tho , Nelson', association 'should bo allowed to have, the first selection of a Committeeriian.. . , , V ; "Resolved, on the motion of Mr..
