Ho advocated tho dumping in of emigrants from tho Motherland. It is tho dearth of labour in the Par West that complicates the 'Asiatic immigration' problem. Tho Canadian Minister of tho Inferior (the Hon. I'. Oliver) recently investigated the position, especially with regard to fruit-growing and lumber, and declared that there was "an amplo demand in British Columbia for all labour available, without distinction of race, colour, or ability." Since then, tho Vancouver riots have.occurred.
