A distressing fatality occured in tho Grey Biver, near' Blackball,' last ovening, whon Contable Lyons and Joseph Skinnor wero droivned. The deceased and John Smith went fishing in a canoe, .which capsized,,.and the two men lost'their lives. ', --.. '•, ' '"'.'" Later. • The sad droivning accident which occurred at Blackball cast quite a gloom over the town and district to-day, the deceased being well known and highly respected. ■ • - ■ ' Information to hand shows that throe men were crossing .the river.,in a. canoe when it Capsized... •• ; . '~ , Smith, jwho , could not swim, was helped to the upturnod canoe and hold,on.
