1 There.are, as usual, many interesting facts ' and figures in the 103 rd annual report of the British and Foreign Bible Society, which has justf beeii issued. . Nearly 000 of the society's wayfaring Bible sellers are . busy up and down the world all the year round, Wherever men make their homes the colporteur carries his wallet of cheap' little Gospels and Testaments. Last •year, the staff of colporteurs sold 2,200,000 copies of Scripture, and cost the society about £42,000. The society's total issues for the past year have been as follows: — . 100G-7. Bibles 843,052 Now Testaments 1,231,473 ■ Portions 3,342,044 '. ••■: .' 'Total 5,416,569 ' This total is 560,884 fewer than the society's record-output in the. previous year. It falls nearly B'per. cent below the average of the vory.'large'.totals registered in the last four reports. ' '• ~ Sight new languages may now bo added to those ,in .which the socioty has published somo portion of the Scripture. These include strango "patois" used in Indian provinces, in China, Africa, the Philippines, and the. Now Hebrides. "We can now report a total of 409 different languages and dialects in which the so J ciety has promoted the translation, printing, or.'distribution of at l"ast some port of God's Book," says the Society.
