MR. KEIR HARDIE.
Sir—Now that the, attention of tha ; I'ross is boing turned against Mr. Keir Hardio, and a few patriotic citizens. are fanning the flamo of abuse, which is tho only . Mmo their spontaneous 1 outbursts are ever seen iii print, it 1 behoves quiet thinking people, and,' 1 thoso, who' love justicoi to think what' ' this mischief-making, unthiiikiug sec- ,/ tion.of tho community , are doing. Why ' is so much reliance placed on exaggerated Press reports.; and who aro thoso who.have denounced a' man with.out hearing his defence? Ho has'asked ' the Press and the country to' have patienco, and-ho will givo a full explanation and a truthful "account of his utterances. But outbursts of wrath still continuo, and he is to enter this country a traitor to England, and tho public aro warnod to avoid him as they would tho ten plagues of Egypt. I know that there arc bitter opponents to Socialism who would willingly take this opportunity of injuring Mr.' Hardio, and .pro'vent him fronV being well ro- • ceivcd. I hope all lovers of justice, in. this , country -will have patience . and not condemn him in sucli a wild and rcckless manner as tho Press has done. ' I am, etc., - ' . LOVER OF JUSTICE. Wellington, October 10.
