Nations Straggle to Fly.

THE WIND FACTOR By Tolctrraph.—Association.—Oopyrleht. — London, October 10. A sudden gale-wrecked, tho Nulli Secundus, tho British military airship, at the -Crystal Palace (tho point where it lauded after, tho recont successful fly of thirty-threo miles). A NEW ZEALAND INVENTION, . By {Telegraph— Press Association. □uneclin, October 11. L, Warsaw, merchant tailor, of this city, has. invented art air-ship, tho principle :of which, it is claimed, is ontiroly new. Tho invontor says tho lifting of„tho machine is by moans cf four balloons joined to a central mast, making them air as one compact body, and that once tho ship rises to a sufficient height, two wings or glidors attached to .the apparatus will act in tho same capacity as a parachuto, that ; s, there will bo sufficient air pressure boncath them to act almost independent of artificial lifting powers, and should any accident occur thero is no fear of the apparatus coming to grief. Tho gliders rest upon air chambers, and thus boccmio self-acting under any current of air or adverse winds. Their action would resemble that of a bird on the wing. . A rear shaft is adjusted on a similar principle, and should a gust of \rind strike the frame of tho apparatus the adjustment of the roar shaft would have a counteracting influence nnd steady tho machine. Tho driving power is ,by means of four propellers, two on each sido, acting independent of each other, and driven by two small motor ongines, Ono at oncli ond of tho machino. In turning, oitho.r, or both, can bci used. This in itself will net as steering gear. The invention will bo placed before the Now Zoaland Government, and' if doomed worthy of consideration will bo placed before tho Impovial Government.
