Accidents and Fatalities.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Westport, October 8. Jolm Dcrrymau, whose" tragic death is reported, was. working at the brake head, Dctmiston Colliery, and left his work yesterday morning. His body was subsequently discovered at tho bottom of a forty-feet cliff, with his socks tied round the eyes. The boots were on top of tho cliff. Deceased was a steady man, and no reason can be ascertained for. the suicide except that ho was suffering from, influenza. Ohristchurch, October 8. Miss C. H. Dixon, a patient at the ■ Christcfmrcb hospital, died under chloroform this afternoon.
