His body was subsequently discovered at tho bottom of a forty-feet cliff, with his socks tied round the eyes. The boots were on top of tho cliff. Deceased was a steady man, and no reason can be ascertained for. the suicide except that ho was suffering from, influenza. Ohristchurch, October 8. Miss C. H. Dixon, a patient at the ■ Christcfmrcb hospital, died under chloroform this afternoon.
