The Avon was well patronised, and one basket of fifty-five small fish taken with fly .was reported. The fish were small and without exception in poor condition. Included-in the-hst of orders, are some from Australia.; " > Tho Wellington Acclimatisation Society's, game farm at l'araparaumu, under the management of Mr. Boss, had'a most successful season. Altogether a total of 604 game birds,wore reared, establishing a record: for the farm.' Pheasants headed the list with a total of 430. Of,'-these.3so wero liberated and disposed of in the Dominion. Of the English mallard ducks, which totalled 114, half have '. been turned out, the balance being required' for breeding purposes. Two, pairs of Korean-ducks-wero presented to:..,the Newtown Zoo; the balance of 10 were held as stock birds. The latest report from tho farm was to tho effect that everything was going on satisfactorily and the birds 'were looking well.
