Wtih rcforenco to tho cablo from London, Mr. Watson (Labour leader), says that Mr. Ramsay Macdonald's criticism is seriously depreciated by his want of practical knowledge of local circumstances. He apparently ignores tho fact that the Labour party failed to secure a majority at tho elections. Mr. J. Ramsay Macdonald, English Labour M.P., recently declared that tho Australian Labour party was making a profound mistake in concentrating its attention upon nominal wages instead of getting hold of tho moans of production. Tho Council of tho. Employers' Association'of Australia is organising against tho now Protection movement. They claim that it embodies an attempt to take over the control of busi- • ness, thus reducing them to the position of overseors.
