Uamiantync and ' Co., . local agcrit3 for the Tyser Line, Ltd., advise that the Star of island left Liverpool for Auckland direct on September 11, and is due hero about Noyembr 14. Captain Boycc is .oming ill command. The llawkcs Bay is to leave Now-York on October 26, and will load under the auspices of the United Tyser Line. The Mimiro has 800 tons for this port, and will proceed to Lyttelton and Dunedin after discharging here. She is now in command of Captain Kemp, late of tho Hawkes Bay. Captain Lidstonc, late of the Mimiro is coming out as master of the new Tyser stcamur Nerehana, which was launched on August 29. The new Tyser Liner Whakarua arrived at Auckland last Tuesday. She is duo hero on October 18, and has 12100 tons of cargo for this port. Captain 0. C. Fclgate is in command, the other deck olliccrs being: Ohicf, Mr J. Duncan; second, Mr. P. D. Day; third, Mr., W. E. Bain; fourth, Mr. Si. 0. Bye. Mr. A. Young (late of the Niwaru) is in charge of the engine department. The Whakarua., which was built at Belfast, lias a gross tonnage of about 6600 tons, and a length of 46Sft. She is constructed on the shelter-deck type, wit- three complete stcol decks, Her cargo space is divided into five spacious holds and 'tween decks, three of which are ■ insulated for the carriage of frozen meat cargoes. A full and complete equipment of steam winches and the necessary derricks ensures expeditious, disposal of cargo, the derricks being swung from tho masts and special posts erected for the purpose. Electricity is installed throughout the ship, and, generally speaking, she is replete with all the most modern appliances necessary in a vessel of her class. Tho Whakarua left London on August 1, and made the run out to Melbourne in tht , good time of 12 days 18hours, and met with generally moderate weather, with extreme cold in the Southern Ocean. On discharging cargo at Melbourne the steamer proceeded to Sydney, and left the latter port for Auckland on September 26, meeting with fine weather across. 1 — " THE'HELEN DENNY." The barque Helen Denny arrived in the stream frbm Sydney at noon yesterday. She was granted pratique, and berthed at the Railway Wharf about 5 p.m. The acrgo consists of hardwood and Oregon pine. Captain Holm, of the Helen Denny, is a son of tho popular captain of the Knnerdale, who himself was skipper of the vessel for six years. There were two passsengcrs by the Helen Denny, namely, Misses Holm and llowdcn. The voyage occupied 74 days.
