MR. McCUILOUGH'S SUSPENSION.

DECISION OF THE CABINET. By Telegraph.—Association—Copyright. ChrtstchLsrch, October 3. The decision of the Cabinet in regard to the Suspension of Mr. M'Cullough was received to-day. Mr. M'Cullough stated that it would not be proper for him to say anything until the matter had been finally settled one way or the other. It seems, however, that the terms of the communication to Mr. M'Cullough bccamo kuo.ini to "quite a number of Addington workshops employees during the afternoon, and Mr. M'Cullough, much to his surprise, was approached by several ,of his fellow workers, one of whom knew as much as ho did regarding the nature of the Cabinet's decision. Mr. M'Cullough himself did not divulge the contents of tlio letter to anybody, and is quite. at a loss to understand' how the matter could have leaked out. Inquiries went to show, however, that what Mr. M'Cullough rccoived from the Minister ivas an intimation that if he would sign an, undertaking agreeing to refrain for the future from taking part in miy political affairs, ho would-be reinstated forthwith. No information could be' obtained from Mr. M'Cullough . regarding tup. naturo of his reply to this communication, but 011 making inquiries 111 labour circles a reporter was assured that there was no chance whatever of Mr. M'Cullough's agreeing to sign the undertaking, and it would then rest with the Government to decide what, further action should bo taken in the light of that refusal. Mr. M'Cullough lias already received'the offer of an appointment from a private employer in the event of his leaving the Govormnmit service, and.tho various labour unions hero are quite prepared, if necessary, to make up a handsomo subscription for him.
