There has boon.much discussion as to whether one dreams only on falling to sleep and during the net of waking up or whether dreams take place at any time during sleep. Dr., Frederick Paterson, writing in "Harpers .Magazine" for August, says that, while not deßnitoly determined an yet, the evidence seems to be rather in favour .of the view that oho may dream at any time during the night, or. the whole night through. Dreaming is common to perfectly healthy persons, and in ' itself is ; no evidence of disorder. An Italian woman named Campisciano was recently' sentenced at Now Orleans to ,imprisonment■ for life, for the murder of: a boy named Lamo.ua. The hoy- had been kidnapped, and the parents • were notified that if they paid .£IOOO ransom they conld have tho child back. They declined to pay, and the boy was afterwards found murdered. The lad had been seen in the woman's company, and she was arrested- and sentenced. The woman's hnsband. Jjjnacio Campieciano, has now confessed that he stranded the boy. He stated that his wife was innocent, and that he confessed in order to sa , ? her from imprisonment for life.
