REVENGE ON MOTORISTS.
Advices from New York state that on July 31 a motor-car, worth £1200, knocked down a littlo girl, the daughter of a farmer named Jessop, near Chicago. . , The child was not seriously injured, but- Jessop summoned liis farm jiauds, who .ran across the country to a point where tho car would pass. The men readied the spot just in timo to barricado tho road with rails and stop the car. . ' , ,
Tho motorists, including two women, wero dragged from the car and handled roughly. Then tho men set lire to the car, which was destroyed. The motorists had to walk eight miles to the nearest village, where they securod a yonveyance to take them home.
