Automobile Club.

ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the Wellington 'Automobile Club, to be submitted to the annual meeting of members at the Grand Hotel' this evening, sets out that the statement of accounts shows a balance of assets oyer liabilities of' i£sl 13s. The club is now firmly established, and as the present expenses arc email the funus which are accumulating will be available for'furthering the objects of the club; and members will shortly-be asked to vote a portion oi the funds for the erection of finger and mile posts in the Wellington district. During the year ten new members were elected, bringing the membership up to 51. "Very good work was accomplished during the year just closed by the holding of a conference of motorics in Wellington on July 31 last, and by the formation of a New Zealand ■ Automobile Association affiliating all the. clubs, the arrangements for which were made, and conducted by this Club with', the-sup-port of the Canterbury Association, and thanks are due to tho president and the secretary of that association for their kind assistance. It was resolved, upon the motion of your delegates,.that.the first annual' conference be held in. Wellington- during lYbruary next. Consider--able intorest will, no doubt, be taken in the proceedings, and proposals will shortly bo submitted to you in regard to entertaining the visiting delegates. The following subjects, among other matters, -will be discussed by the conference: Improvement of ioads, removal of dangerous' corners, c-reetion of bridges, improved facilities for carrying motor cars by steamer and rail, and reduction in ' freight by stoanier, insurance of . motor cars, • by-laws and regulations, and other matters concerning the welfare and advancement of motoring."
